The Latest: Boston police: Stop throwing things at us

President Donald Trump is complimenting the Boston police on Twitter for their handling of the rallies minutes before the police department tweeted asking people to stop throwing items at them. Trump tweeted Saturday afternoon, "Looks like many anti-police agitators in Boston.

Donald Trump's 'heal' misspelling becomes Internet fodder

President Trump made the same goof twice in attempting to address the protesters in Boston, Massachusetts, on Saturday — and it did not go unnoticed.
Thousands gathered as a counter movement to white nationalism when a so-called “Free Speech” rally was planned in Boston. A Facebook page allegedly linked to the rally attempted to distance the event from the white supremacist gathering in Charlottesville, Virginia, a week prior.
“Our great country has been divided for decade, but it will come together again. Sometimes protest is needed in order to heel, and heel we will,” Trump tweeted a little after 4:00 p.m. ET on Saturday. He quickly deleted that version to post a revision. Unfortunately, that too used “heel” instead of “heal.”
Trump got the spelling right on the third try, which read, “Our great country has been divided for decades. Sometimes you need protest in order to heal, & we will heal, & be stronger than ever before! I want to applaud the many protestors in Boston who are speaking out against bigotry and hate. Our country will soon come together as one!”

Uncharted director hopes film will be a new generation's Indiana Jones

Shawn Levy hopes to make Nathan Drake a new generation’s Indiana Jones. The director behind Uncharted, the Hollywood adaptation of the popular video game franchise, has been working on the project with screenwriter Joe Carnahan — and, if all goes as planned, the duo will have “an Indiana Jones-type franchise” for an audience that “didn’t grow up on Indiana Jones.”
During an interview with Nerdist, Levy discussed his vision for the film and what struck him about the game series. “For me, it was the fact that the game is awesome — the spirit of the game, with its action set pieces, its imaginative settings, and above all the kind of rogue swagger of Nathan. Those are things that I think make for a great movie.”

The real story behind the orange hoodie in Eternal Sunshine

“Meet me in Montauk,” Clementine (Kate Winslet) whispers to Joel (Jim Carrey) as Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind races toward its finale. It’s a command fans took to heart earlier this month, as movie theater chain Alamo Drafthouse and Focus Features (which released Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind in March 2004) celebrated the studio’s 15th anniversary by hosting a special screening of Michel Gondry’s fractured romance in Montauk, New York.
The event, part of Alamo’s “Maverick Cinema presented by Focus Features” programming, included a brief walking tour of the production locations, a screening of the film that ticket buyers enjoyed while laying on mattresses provided by Casper (a reference to the scene where Clementine and Joel awaken in a bed on the beach), and a special item of clothing familiar to anyone who has seen Eternal Sunshine: an orange hoodie.
It’s worn by Clementine in the film and is notable for being the only reference to costuming in Kaufman’s Oscar-winning script, costume designer Melissa Toth tells EW.

Father John Misty pens eulogy for Chuck E. Cheese's robot frontman

Father John Misty isn’t one to “eulogize over social media,” as he mentioned in a message on Facebook Friday. But the news of Chuck E. Cheese’s animatronic band breaking up compelled him to “humbly offer a few words in ” in the face of such “shock and sadness.”
CEC Entertainment Chief Executive Tom Leverton told CBS News this week of plans to revamp restaurants, a move that will include the disbanding of the robot bands.
Misty, a.k.a. Josh Tillman, recalled how he would celebrate his birthdays as a kid in Maryland at Chuck E. Cheese with friends from school and church.
“Having been a professional musician for a few years now, I can appreciate firsthand not only the strain of trying to sustain a flow of creativity for so long but the rigorous, pretty unexotic feat of physical endurance just getting through a few hundred shows a year, plus all the travel,” he wrote in a comical and overtly sentimental message on Friday.

Godzilla vs. Kong will have definite 'winner,' says director

Who will emerge victorious from Godzilla vs. Kong? We don’t know. But director Adam Wingard (You’re Next, The Guest) is insistent that someone — or something — will be the clear winner when his monster match-up of outsized lizard and giant ape arrives on screens, May 22, 2020.
“I do want there to be a winner,” the filmmaker told EW on Friday, during a visit to New York. “The original film (1962’s King Kong vs. Godzilla) was very fun, but you feel a little let down that the movie doesn’t take a definitive stance. People are still debating now who won in that original movie, you know. So, I do want people to walk away from this film feeling like, Okay, there is a winner.”
